SAR, Long Rides, Car Grave Yards

Been a while since my last post.  Not too much going on lately.  Been trying to get into the habit of some long rides every Tuesday with John Hurly.  We've been putting the Pikes Peak atlas to good use.  Had a Teller County Search and Rescue overnighter that was a ton of fun.  Nothing like camping at 12000 feet on Pikes Peak.  Heres a photo dump of the last couple of weeks.  Was hoping to partake in the 24 Hours of Sage, but looks like that won't be happening.  Oh well, always more rides on the horizon.

Enjoy

  1. Oh, the car graveyard seems to be in a little town. People there must not ignore these cars. They can ask some experts to restore those which can still be restored, and use those which aren't for a different purpose. Did you see that red truck in your second to the last photo? That's definitely a must-have! Were you able to go inside that car graveyard?

  2. The lot was actually in Colorado Springs, near the greenway off of 24. It was a pretty well stocked salvage yard that only seemed to deal in classic cars and trucks. They all seemed fairly complete so I am not completely sure of their actual intent for the vehicles, if they were for parts or to be restored. Unfortunately since it was on a Sunday, they were on open.
